With the issue of having nothing to wear coming up too often these days, I've decided to do a closet cleanup. I made two piles: one to consign, and another to donate. The pile to donate has been left in the wealth area of the house for about 4 weeks (I know that because I put it there when Alberto came from Buenos Aires and now, after 4 weeks he is going back there and thus I know the pile spent a little over 4 weeks in wealth area) and now I should donate it within next few days. Feng Shui thing...
Anyways, with most unused clothes out of the closet I finally got room to breathe and can make some serious changes.
I've made a list of criteria a piece of clothing has to meet in order to stay in the closet. Here they are:
1) Each bottom has to go with at least 5 tops
2) Any new purchase has to match with at least 3 items already owned
Also there is a list of general closet rules:
1) 75% of all clothes has to be worn on regular basis with the remaining 25% can consist of clothes worn on occasion
2) 75% of the closet should be in solid colors and only 25% can be prints
3) 60% of the clothes should be work clothes, 20% family time clothes, 20% sports and recreation clothes, and 5% evening wear
I feel bad because I kinda broke one of my rules the other day when I bought two adorable Nine West print dresses

Lime green and chiffon skirt

I know it's a weird cobination of dressy shoes, shorts, and clutch combined with rather casual tank top but I like it

Navy and grey
Navy and coral
Experimenting with navy dress
Here I experimented with navy Ann Taylor dress, accessorizing it with coral and peach, yellow and warm pink.
The first combo was the dress with coral Liz Claiborne purse and peach pashmina, along with light brown sandals.
In the second one I paired it up with Bebe yellow three-buckle belt and BCBGirls yellow peep toe pumps.
The third variation combines the navy dress with warm pink Jones New York jacket, think black belt and black Via Spiga sling backs. These are my favorite!
I figured black and navy would not be a bad combo if there is more than one accessory in black. Besides, the buttons on the jacket are also black.
Warm pink near the face neutralizes the effect of dark colors - I am trying to stay within spring palette

Lime green and brown
That was my going to the movies outfit today
Clothes: lime green Ann Taylor top, golden brown Express design studio pants, and Boutique 9 brown sandals. I am trying to stay within spring palette when choosing my colors and lime green and golden brown do the job. This particular shade of lime green is by far my favorite
